Michelle

As a woman who has gone through a recent divorce, Michelle’s journey to find her home at Sage Village was anything but straight forward. Not only was Michelle navigating her new life, but she also lives with Primary Progressive MS, which can cause muscle stiffness and fatigue, among other symptoms. This meant that Michelle needed an accessible suite, building, and neighbourhood, which ultimately drew her towards Sage Village.

Taking it a step further, Michelle took it upon herself to turn this condo into a home, and started renovations to make it even more accessible. While she describes the hall and doorways as wide and accessible, she continues to add her own modifications such as handles around the suite to lift herself up. Michelle believes that there should be more living options for those with accessibility issues, and she wants to start by making her current home accessible so that the next person to own it won’t have to.

When spending time at home, Michelle enjoys reading, lounging on the couch watching her favourite TV shows, or enjoying an ice-cold drink at the kitchen island. Michelle’s spirit and positivity is infectious, and we are truly lucky to have her as a homeowner at Sage Village.

Michelle’s Story in Her Own Words:

I was living in Brandon when I was going through my divorce and started seeking out my new home. I was lucky enough to know about StreetSide from my parents, who also happened to have purchased at Sage Village. Having my parents close by, partnered with the accessibility of the building and community, drew me to decide to live at Sage Village.

Sage Village and the Sage Creek neighbourhood is a fantastic community to live in with wonderful people throughout! They are both wonderful and kind, I never feel unsafe, and I love the fact that everything is so close. My real estate agent worked together with StreetSide’s Realtor, Stephanie Childerhose, who was essential in making my last-minute purchase so easy!
