September Long Events in Winnipeg this weekend

The end of summer is near, and the weather has already started to cool off in Winnipeg. It’s September Long weekend, so it’s time to make the most of the last few weeks of fun. If you’re staying in the city this weekend, check out our short list of things to do in Winnipeg and the surrounding area.

FREE MANITOBA PROVINCIAL PARK ENTRY THIS WEEKEND, all weekend

The Manitoba government is offering free entry to all provincial parks this weekend, so take advantage and explore what our beautiful province has to offer. Park vehicle permits are not required in all provincial parks and there will be special events held at various locations. Visit the Manitoba Parks website to find out more.

DOWNTOWN WINNIPEG NIGHT MARKET, Friday August 31st

Tonight from 4-11 p.m. at the Manitoba Hydro Plaza, experience live entertainment, live painting, “Instagram alley” and wine & beer gardens at Rudy’s patio and pop-up bar. Shop local and check out the various area businesses as well. This is an event for all ages.

LE BURGER WEEK, starts Saturday, September 1

We love a good burger, and this is the only week of the year that it's perfectly acceptable to stuff your face and taste test a dozen+ burgers! WINNIPEG CHINATOWN STREET FESTIVAL, Friday & Saturday August 31-Sept.1st.

From August 31 to September 1st on King Street between James and Alexander Avenue, this annual street festival in the Exchange District will come alive. There will be merchant markets, performances, food trucks and more. Free admission.

FALL FISHING DERBY, Saturday, September 1st

If you love fishing but don’t have the option of leaving the city this weekend, The Forks will be hosting a fall fishing derby along the Assiniboine River walkway. Prizes for adult and youth categories. Registration is free, however, donations will be accepted for Marymound School and Never Alone Foundation. Location: The Historic Port at The Forks from 9am-2pm.

CONDO EXPLORING, all weekend
