Q: What type of construction is used for Hudson Condominiums?
A: The foundation is concrete piles and the parkade is comprised of concrete walls and floors. A concrete floor separates the parking level from the main floor. The four-storey building is wood framed from the main floor to the roof with engineered wood joists and beams and tongue and groove subfloor with gypcrete topping comprising the floors. There is a double-wall system separating the suites. It has an engineered wood truss sloped roof.
Q: What is the heating system used for the Condominiums?
A: Each suite is heated with compact linear convector baseboard heaters, cooled with a ductless mini-split air conditioner, and has a ducted transfer fan to circulate fresh air throughout the suite. The common areas of the building are conditioned by a make-up air unit which also supplies the fresh air to the suites. The parkade is heated with electric unit heaters.
Q: What security measures will be incorporated at Hudson Condominiums?
A: Access to the building will be via secure interphone located at the building entries. Closed circuit TV will monitor all building entry points including the lower level parkade. Deadbolts and peep holes will be installed in all suite entrance doors. Programmable key fobs will be used to access the building entries and parkade.
Q: What level of soundproofing can be expected at Hudson Condominiums?
A: All floor and wall soundproofing requirements are built to exceed the building code requirements. The walls between the suites are constructed of a double wood stud wall with drywall, sheathing at shear wall locations, and R12 batt insulation on each side with a 1” air gap in between. The floors are constructed of Engineered Floor Joists R22 batt insulation between floors, gypcrete floor topping, resilient channel, and 2 layers of 5/8″ drywall

A: The Hudson Condominiums will be finished with stucco, vinyl siding, fibre cement panels and trim, brick veneer, and stone panels. Brick veneer siding finishes at the main entry canopy and other prominent areas of the building.
Q: I am concerned about the chance of a fire at the building. How has this been addressed?
A: The unlikely event of a fire has been extensively considered at Hudson. The building is equipped with a comprehensive fire alarm system that includes a full fire-supressing sprinkler system, fire alarm horns and strobe lights, hard-wired in-suite early detection smoke and heat detectors, and emergency exit lighting and signage. The suites are separated from each other with a 1-hour fire resistance rating on wall and floors are separated from the underground parkade by a 2-hour fire-resistance rating.

A: Air conditioning is standard in all suites at the Hudson Condominiums.

A: If you select your new home early in construction commencement, you may customize certain aspects of the design and planning. The location of kitchens, bathrooms, and main walls, etc. cannot be modified, but early purchasers can select from our menu of optional interior finishings to create their own personal look and lifestyle. Optional upgrades include: custom flooring, kitchen cabinets, countertops, a wide spectrum of interior paint colours and appliances. Once you purchase your new condominium, you will then have the opportunity to visit our new state-of-the-art, 3,500-square-foot Design Centre to meet with our design consultant and make your interior upgrade selections.
