Brick walls provide instant character at District Condos

Not much rivals the brick wall when it comes to an injection of character in a home or condo. There’s something about exposed brick that is just so … charming. Perhaps it’s the history it holds — a story of another time that serves as a constant reminder of the past. It’s also a welcome departure from basic drywall — a wall that has enough personality on its own that you don’t even need to paint it.

When it comes to buying a new condo, location, amenities and the layout are usually at the top of a homebuyer’s list. But there’s one factor that can really shape your experience above all else: who the developer is.

As housing prices increase, the thought of saving a down payment for a home can be daunting, especially for younger generations just entering the job market.

A new solution is popping up all over the country and gaining in popularity: co-buying a condo with a partner. Read on to learn more about co-buying and why it's worth consideration.

Articles on saving for a down payment are certainly not hard to come across. They are full of practical advice like "Cut out your morning latte to save an extra $2000 a year!"

But what if you're already all about the home brew and bagged lunch, and you're still stuck on how to make your savings grow? Well, we've put together 5 more ideas we hope will provide some new and unique ways (involving minimal effort) to help you save for the biggest purchase of your life.

When developing the brand concept for District Condos’ 139 Market, we decided we wanted to tap into the artistic community that the Exchange is known for.

To capture the feeling we get when roaming through the streets of the Exchange and visiting our favourite local hangouts, we thought we would incorporate a local artist’s work inspired by the area, rooting our branding in the community we know and love.

We've been busy over at Parkline Townhomes in South Osborne - so much so  that we haven't had the chance to share photos from our display suites until now! The Panorama display is a first-of-its kind for us, featuring a separate, contained income suite in the basement as a mortgage helper.
If you haven't had the chance to get out during the Parade of Homes yet, you're in luck! Here's a little peek into one of our four entries, the beautiful display suite at Hudson Condominiums’ two-storey townhomes.

Located in the heart of the East Exchange District, District 139 Market is the final building for sale in this development – offering a limited opportunity to land a coveted address in the trendy neighbourhood.

New home buyers love the layout, design and affordability of Hudson Condominium's two-storey townhomes now selling in Devonshire Village, but for months we've been getting inquiries for more information on our apartment-style condos. Whether you're a first-time buyer wanting to get in to the market, or a downsizer looking for easy, effortless living with a lock and leave lifestyle, apartment-style condos are the perfect fit for many buyers, and it's why we are happy to announce our Hudson apartment-style condominiums launch for pre-sale this weekend!

Pre-Sales 101

Buying a condo in pre-sales, either before or during the construction process, can seem intimidating at first (see tips for buying from a floorplan drawing here), but it offers some incredible perks as a buyer. We'll help get you up to speed so you feel confident getting in early, and reaping all the rewards.

We are now releasing our most affordable floorplan at Hudson, the Champlain, a two-bedroom, two-storey townhome starting as low as $241,900 including GST. These thoughtfully laid-out townhomes maximize space with a large master, second bedroom or office, one-and-a-half baths, and multi-functional living space for lounging and dining.

That winter cold is upon us, which beyond the implication of parkas and driving away with your car still plugged in, also means increased energy bills to keep your home a cozy haven from the frigid temps.

While new condos such as ours are already very energy efficient, who doesn’t want to save even more money (and reduce their energy output) if they can? Here are some simple ways you can save on your heating bill this winter:

Condo living provides a lifestyle desired by many: ease of maintenance, security, less worry, a sense of community, and most often, desired location. With all these benefits, condo life also gets associated with its very own “fee,” a monthly payment oft misunderstood to be an additional monthly cost only encountered by condo owners.
